Set up your agent
AgentAlarm works with any AI agent that can run a command on a computer with Node.js 20 or later. Setup takes about two minutes.
1. Install AgentAlarm where your agent runs
On the computer or server your agent uses, run:
curl -fsSL https://agentalarm.app/install.sh | shIt installs the agentalarm command in ~/.local/bin and adds the AgentAlarm skill to OpenClaw, Claude Code and Hermes if it finds them. Prefer to read the code first? Download install.sh, agentalarm.mjs, crypto.mjs and SKILL.md.
2. Connect it to your iPhone
In AgentAlarm, tap Connect an agent. Tap Send to agent to message your agent the code, or run it yourself:
agentalarm pair K7Q2-9XMP --name "Claude Code on MacBook"Codes work once and expire after 10 minutes. Connecting needs an active free week or subscription.
3. Ring a test alarm
agentalarm ring "AgentAlarm is connected"Your iPhone rings within seconds, even on silent. From then on, ask your agent for alarms in plain words.
Notes for each agent
- OpenClaw. The installer adds the skill to your workspace. OpenClaw schedules alarms with its own automations, so they ring even when you’re not chatting with it. An always-on gateway is the most reliable setup.
- Claude Code. The installer adds the skill to
~/.claude/skills. Claude Code schedules alarms with the computer’s scheduler (cron, systemd orat), so the computer has to be on when an alarm is due. - NanoClaw. Send your agent the install command in chat, so it installs inside its own container. AgentAlarm then lives in the agent’s folder, which survives restarts and updates, and alarms are NanoClaw scheduled tasks that ring without waking the agent. Each agent group connects on its own.
- Hermes Agent. Install on the computer that runs the Hermes gateway. The installer adds the skill to
~/.hermes/skillsand to each profile. Hermes schedules alarms as cron jobs that run without the AI, so they ring only while the gateway is running. - Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and other agents. Point your agent at
~/.local/share/agentalarm/SKILL.md. It explains how to ring and schedule alarms. - Your own scripts. Call
agentalarm ring "…"from anything that runs commands.
Privacy
Your agent encrypts every alarm for your iPhone before it leaves the computer. AgentAlarm’s relay delivers it but can’t read it. More in the privacy policy.
